There’s nothing more delightful than a dessert that’s pleasing to the eyes. Here is a simple, healthy recipe that will rock your tea party the next time someone comes over. Besides, this is definitely something you’d love to have especially when cutting down on those calories.

2 red organic apples

½ lemon, squeezed

3 tablespoons of Apricot preserve

1 sheet of thawed puff pastry

Take the apples and slice them in half. Remove the core and after which, slice the apples into thin strips. In a bowl, half-filled with water, squeeze half a lemon making sure the seeds are out. Mix the apple strips into the bowl and pop it in the microwave for three minutes. Drain the water and set the apple strips aside.

Take 3 tablespoons of apricot preserve and mix it with two tablespoons of water. Put it into the microwave for 1 minute and let it cool. Unwrap a sheet of thawed puff pastry. Lay the pastry out and stretch. To make sure it doesn’t stick to your rolling pin so add more flour to the puff pastry. With a rolling pin, roll the sheet out evenly and slice it into 6 equal strips.

In each strip of pastry, spread the Apricot preserve like butter and line the strips of apples with the peelings popping out of the pastry. You may add cinnamon if you want after lining your apple strips up and fold the dough in half. Roll the pastry to make the rose-shaped dessert and slip it into a baking cup. Bake the Apple Roses for 40-45 minutes at 375oF. Sprinkle with icing sugar to serve.
